The preview is an intermediate state
An application preview can show a scaled or temporary representation. The file you download and deliver is the actual production object. Open that file in an appropriate viewer and check its pixel dimensions, orientation, crop and visible content. Confirm that the download completed and that you did not save a thumbnail or reference preview. Do not infer the final file’s properties solely from the settings you intended to choose before export.
Check the fragile details again
Compare text, signatures, faces and fine edges in the exported version with the approved processing preview and original. Look for unexpected compression, clipping or a changed background. If the final workflow adds layout text or borders, inspect those too. A correct intermediate image can be placed incorrectly in a document. Keep file-format and color-handling requirements visible beside the check so the reviewer does not approve only the most attractive part of the picture.
A wrong-version example
A fictional project contains source.jpg, candidate-a.png, candidate-b.png and a small placement-preview.jpg. The printer needs the approved candidate-b layout, not the similarly named preview. Rename the delivery file clearly, remove unrelated candidates from the delivery folder without deleting the archive, and include a concise version note. Verify the uploaded order preview against that file. Do not assume that choosing the newest-looking thumbnail proves the right object was selected.
If something differs
Stop the handoff and identify whether the mismatch arose during processing, download, conversion or layout. Return to the earliest correct retained version. Avoid repeating the entire enhancement workflow when only the export setting is wrong. Preserve the failed file for diagnosis if useful, but keep it out of production. The next step is a targeted correction and renewed check of affected properties, followed by a suitable proof—not an unbounded sequence of increasingly large exports.
